(More customer reviews)I'm 2nd degree black belt traditional kickboxer. I use these gloves on the heavy bag and I like them now. However, if you are use to those 16oz boxing gloves then these gloves will take getting use to. Actually, the MMA gloves are so unforgiving with improper punching techniques I recommend cutting back your power and analyze how you are hitting your first week before blasting a target. I scraped the skin off my finger knuckles and twist my waist in the beginning weeks when I didn't know better. That is when I realized the problem wasn't the gloves but my throwing technique was sloppy. Large ounce boxing gloves will lull you into poor technique because you never have to think of how to hit.Now I throw more accurately because I am fitting the weapon onto the target better.
My next tip is using hand wraps and tape your wrist is a must. The gloves should feel tight getting on over wraps and that is what you want. The inside of the gloves is cloth and may wear down the skin on your hand after repeated hits. If your knuckles slide around then the gloves are too large. The outside of the glove is leather and obviously is durable. Remember to get a tight fit and hit accurately in use of these gloves. The 6oz gloves are the closest thing to hitting with bare hands and I love the feel of my knuckles piercing through my target and you will too.
