(More customer reviews)I'd really like to give these gloves a higher rating. They put out plenty of heat, are fairly comfortable, and seem well made.
But the batteries are a real issue. I've gone through 4 or 5 sets of batteries in a few years. Only one set lasted a year. The others have failed in 6 to 8 months. I got a pair of heated fleece gloves in early November (that use the same battery packs), and one battery failed completely in only 6 weeks.
Gerbing has been good about replacing these failed units, but the repeated failures speaks to a real quality control problem. If you really need to rely on these, you almost have to buy a second set of batteries (at $80!) to ensure you'll have one working pair at all times. Very disappointing.
