(More customer reviews)I'm sorry that the only way to give an unfavorable review is to attach it to the product; there's nothing wrong with the product.I picked some of these up in a sporting goods store, after cancelling my Amazon Marketplace order, and they're fine.I'd rate them 5 stars, or wouldn't bother rating them; they're just rubber balls, OK?
However, I wanted to speak up about the predatory shipping charges by this seller.
I cancelled the Amazon order when I found out I was going to be charged $9.50 for shipping, on an item that probably weighs 4 ounces in the box and only costs $5.85.I'm sure they could mail it for a buck or two.There was also an unexplained tax of $1.43, not a lot of money, but it's over 20%.(maybe that's the real shipping cost!;-)
The seller, Cannon Sports, gave me a lame explanation about the shipping charges-- $9.50 for anything up to $95, just an unfortunate shame it's more than my order, too bad, nothing we can do.(!? Isn't shipping a cost a function of weight, not price?) They didn't even try to explain the tax.Our sales tax in CA just went up to over 10% depending on the locality, and trying to avoid that is one reason for ordering stuff online, but I don't believe there's a 20% sales tax wherever they are.
As for the shipping, like I said, they could mail out this cheap, light, product for a buck or so if they wanted to.Seems to me they should only charge their cost for shipping, not whatever they think they can get away with.
So, beware!
